A Study On Individual Religious Psychological Development Of Christian

It’s essential and helpful for the Christian committing their contribution to China’s economy to explore the question of the psychology of Christian. The study has adopted the own-edited Chinese Christian Religious Scale to make a quantitative analysis on both the current situation of Christian religious mentality and the related factors. At the same time, the study has employed qualitative interview method to validate and enrich the quantitative data in order to accumulate material for proposing the discipline construction of Chinese religious mentality.The own-edited Chinese Christian Religious Scale includes the following four dimensions:faith to God, transcend experience, value pursuit and institutional participation. The analysis of related factors has validated the rationality of those dimensions. There are 28 questions in total included in the revised Chinese Christian Religious Scale in which there are 7 items about faith to God, transcend experience, the pursuit of value and institutional participation respectively. The inner consistency in the total scale reaches at 0.891, and the partial ones for the above items are 0.704,0.765,0.747 and 0.802 respectively. The reliability is 0.917 when measured 3 weeks later. The relevance among the above 4 scales is from 0.379 to 0.607 and the relevance between the 4 scales and the total one is from 0.681 to 0.848, which indicates that the scale is of conceiving reliability and validity.Adopting the Chinese Christian Religious Scale, the present form of this study select at ease some Christian from the city of Wenzhou and Jinhua, Zhe Jiang province and the city of Shao Yang, Hunan province as participants. In final,352 valid questionnaires are collected. Through the statistical analysis about the current development of Christian religiosity and affected factors on Christian, the finding shows as followed:1):From the dynamic point of view, the level of Christian religiosity is at the rising trend in whole. The score of the Christian aged between 11 and 20 is the lowest, while the score of those 21 years old to 50 is gradually improving and the score is slightly descended between the age of 51 and 70. The trend is rising among people who are in the age of 71 to 80 and the score at this age stage arrives its peak in record.2):The differences on age, gender, marriage condition, education degree and the time of being Christian are obvious while the differences on the place of household registered and the faith of his parents are little significant.3): according to the multiple regression analysis, only the two factors of time of being Christian and father’s faith can be entered into regression equation, which means the two factors has in some extent the predictive effect on the level of Christian religiosity especially the time of being Christian.Interview research further confirmed that the Christian’s individual religious psychological development presents as the growth of the age and enhanced features.
