Technology Change The Art-The Role Of Chinese Ancient Ceramic Technology On The Development Of Ceramic Art

Though ceramics plays a vital role in the development of ceramic art, the current study on relationship between these two is of small number. This article takes multiple perspectives to prove the essential role of ceramics playing in the development of ceramic art by means of historical research method, logic reasoning method, quantitative analysis method, case analysis method etc. Firstly, from the perspective of material technology, it puts forward the idea that different ceramic materials determine different features of ceramic art, and analyzes the influence of three kinds of raw materials, clay, glaze and pigment on ceramic art. Secondly, from the perspective of kiln process, it conducts research on firing temperature, firing atmosphere and burning methods, and concludes that the changes in kiln process have impact on modeling, decoration and details of ceramic art. Thirdly, it discusses the influence of different forming method casting on the modeling of ceramic art. Lastly, it examines the factor of decoration and testifies that the development of decoration enriches the ceramic art. Based on the research on effects of traditional ceramics on the innovation of ceramic art, this article seeks to push the ceramics researchers to quicken their pace in ceramics innovation, to drive ceramic art creators to increase their application of new materials, thus implementing new technology and designing new products.
