| This paper is devoted to researching the phenomenon of Chinese precedent names, which often become a “stumbling block†in teaching Chinese in Russia. As a result of the long history and literary tradition of China, a lot of precedent names(i.e. typical characters) have been formed, some of them even became a part of idioms, proverbs and common sayings. Therefore, correct understanding of Chinese precedent names can be helpful to the comprehension of the Chinese culture and system of values. This paper emphasizes the importance of teaching precedent names and gives some suggestions on how to draw the theory of precedent names into teaching Chinese in Russia.This paper consists of an introduction, three chapters, a conclusion, a reference list and an appendix.The introduction touches on the essence of the research, its basis; defines the purpose, methods of the study, its novelty, theoretical and practical value.Chapter 1 introduces the theory of cultural linguistics, including the history of its development and current situation, cultural space, cognitive base, second language personality and other basic theories.Chapter 2 introduces the object of this study and its notion, current research situation in China and abroad; studies the characteristics, origin, classification, functions, field of application and other related theories.Chapter 3 basing on the results of the survey on level of comprehension of Chinese precedent names we conducted among Russian students majoring in Chinese gives an analysis on possible difficulties Russian learners may be faced with while studying precedent names.Chapter 4 gives some suggestions on how to draw the theory of precedent names into teaching Chinese as a foreign language, thus playing an active part in promoting thorough understanding of the content of the discourse and the Chinese culture.The conclusion summarizes the achievements of this study, explains the novelty and shortcomings of this paper. The Appendix contains the questionnaire we wrote ourselves. |
