Dunhuang fresco has profound cultural connotation and extremely high artistic value. In order to protect and carry forward the Dunhuang fresco cultural heritage, a common solution is to digitalize and dynamically show murals content. Two technical requirements are brought about in achieving this goal: guarantee the depth coherence of building modeling and the temporal coherence of rendering.Based on the background hereinbefore, this paper makes research in two key technologies of Two And Three Dimensional Combination Film Animation Software— depth coherence modeling and temporal coherence rendering. At the aspect of depth coherence modeling, this paper adopts user-assist method to extract the depth information from single Dunhuang fresco. Then it uses the Iterative Closest Point method to match the depth information with the 3D building model. Comparing the two information, it generates the result of the depth match degree to assist the animators to correct the 3D building models. At the aspect of temporal coherence rendering, this paper adopts the factor graph to formalize the problem of rendering sequence frames of one path in Dunhuang fresco stylize. It chooses the characteristics difference between neighbor path segments’candidate stroke segments in one frame to be one factor function, and the characteristics difference between neighbor frames’ ’same’ path segment’s candidate stroke segments to be another factor function. Then it constructs the factor graph and solves it to guarantee the temporal coherence of rendering sequence frames of one path.A depth coherence modeling assistant tool and a temporal coherence rendering assistant tool have been developed in accordance with the proposed solution and the provided functions could basically meet the demands.
