Since late nineteenth Century, the industrial civilization brings the enormous material also brings war, air pollution and ecological destruction, which has a great impact to people’s life and thought. Then, the classical school of art concept and principle of stale, after Impressionism and Post Impressionism, the conscience of the artist of the industrial age people’s indifference, yearning for pure feeling, pay attention to the existence of human nature and essence of life meaning, advocate the“irrational"”way of thinking, that art is to save people numb soul medicine.The times produce their heroes, there is a part of the artist painting gradually abandoned the method of rational, rigorous, turn their attention to the creation of the primitive and simple children’s painting art, seek a kind of true feelings nature reveals and regression of human nature. Many artists have entered into a new stage for the exploration of multiple art:to express emotion, bright colors, bold lines, has the symbolic and decorative forms of begins to occupy the field of painting. Many of the western modern painting master strain every nerve to use the most sincere the most simple painting language to create moving and interesting image, with the help of some children’s painting skills directly express the most complete and the most pure emotion world, the emergence of a large number of “innocence” is full of paintings. This article tries to start, from the masters of modern western painting works analyzing the phenomenon, analysis of the characteristics of modern western painting, find that embodies innocence. The first part of this paper about the relationship between the western modern painting in the“innocence”and children’s painting; the second part introduces the western modern painting embodies the innocence of some major representative painter; third, the four part analyzes the aesthetic value of “ innocence ” from the aesthetic theory, and to consider the Chinese oil painting art.
