A Comparative Study Of Hutcheson And Mencius Moral Mentiment Thoughts

Mencius and Hutchison all raised the question that moral sentiment is peculiar to mankind,which also is the origins of morality in humans.Mencius’ ssentimental virtue ethics is based on the "four heart" where morals start from foreexample "sympathy" as theoretical basis, which argues that value evaluation andmoral principles of people come from natural emotion.to the "four heart", take the "sympathy" as his theoretical basis, value evaluation and the moral principle that is,people are born with natural emotion; Meng Zi believes that people are born with the emotion promote people internalize it as a moral virtue, which to moral norms and constraints on people’s behavior, and become the base of benevolence. Hutcheson thinks, from the moral emotion and promote altruistic behavior of people and the formation of the public interest, is form the evaluation and constrain people’s behavior standard. They were considered the "evil" people is because people’s moral emotion is vulnerable to a variety of factors and can not play its normal role and produce. By retrieving or rational training, people’s moral emotion will resume its normal function. Meng Zi and Hutcheson are different from the philosophy of moral emotions, thoughts and theoretical framework of different conditions on the basis of the theory. This article is divided into three parts, the first part introduces the theoretical origin and background of Meng’s, moral emotion thought; the second part, the main content of a detailed overview of Mencius and Hutcheson emotional thought emotion and its comparisons. Mencius to one of the "four side of the heart", who is "sympathy" as the theoretical basis, value evaluation and the moral principle that people are born whith natural emotion; becausing of ethical behavior is virtue in the final analysis from human emotion, Mencius education people "to one", that is through soul searching, discovery and protection "sympathy" good root, and cultivating magnanimous. Hutcheson selfless love of human emotion is the root of morality, the moral evaluation of sensory as basis, a great feeling to be noble people, need to continue to exercise their own, precious moral emotion cultivation. Through the theory of emotion of the two are compared, the last part of the article discusses the theoretical value of Meng ha thought and contemporary significance of moral emotions and thoughts of both Meng Zi and Hutcheson can be of reference to help us find the globalization of Chinese between Western ethics emotion value."The existence value and the mode of operation of human morality, ethics must be decided by the external protocol transition to sleep in, and put the moral into the emotional needs of people, is the real moral internalization."
