Trend Selection Of Mood Particles In Mandarin Chinese In Various Styles And Sentence Patterns

Modal particles are one method to express modal and our feelings in mandarin Chinese. We find that when we talk with others, especially in daily communication, we will use modal particles. In this article, we discuss all single-syllable Modal Particles. The source of corpus includes policy documents, prose, TV play, movie and Beijing spoken corpus. This paper divides corpus into written style and spoken style. Written style is divided into narrative and political style. Spoken style can be divided into press interview style(medium preparedness), film and television style(prepared) and daily conversion style(unprepared).According to different positions of modal particles, modal particles can be divided into modal particles at the end and modal particles in the middle of a sentence. This article discusses all single syllable modal particles in the corpus. By means of analysis the distribution of each modal particles and style, we can lead to a conclusion. Combined with distribution of different styles of modal particles, it can not only reflect the distributional difference, but also reflect specific distribution of modal particles in spoken style and written style.This article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is introduction. In this chapter, we illustrate why we choose the topic and summarize the development of modal particles in recent years. Also, detailed instruction has been made to introduce the resource of corpus and style of division. The second chapter analyzes the distribution of modal particles in different sentence types. Through the chart data, intuitively and clearly present the frequency of occurrence and the distribution about the modal particles in different styles. Modal particles can be divided into typical modal particles and atypical. And we summarize styles of modal particles. The third chapter is the distribution of modal particles in different styles. Through the line chart histogram and form data, we examine the distribution of modal particles in styles. Modal particles can be divided into three classes in frequency. In combination with styles and sentence patterns, the fourth chapter analysis of modal particles distribution in different styles. The fifth chapter clarifies the causes of the different dstributions of modal particles. The last chapter summarizes the main thinking of writing and content of this article, and the innovation and disadvantages of the article.
