Viewing The Translation Of English Political News From The Perspective Of Linguistic Thinking

As known to all, the boost of world economy and politic has greatly enhanced the globalization, which should be realized by the further communication among the countries. And the news dissemination is a principal means to comprehend and to learn this world. During the procedure of cultural blending between China and western countries, news, as a carrier and medium of information dissemination that plays a significant role, within which political news possesses a great portion and attracts much more attention. The report of political news is mainly for the dissemination of the policies and activities referring to the parties and social organizations when they deal with the domestic and international affairs. Due to the political news is much more formal and sensitive among different countries, so the words for English political news should be vivid and concise, and the structures are formalized with logic strengthened. Nevertheless, because of the huge differences of two languages and culture, the political news translation turns not to be a feasible work. Hence those difficulties make the target language hard to explain and the readers find obstacles through the lines, which loses effective transmission of information and authenticity for the corresponding texts.Different cultures between Chinese and western countries determine the differences on thinking pattern that is usually affecting the language structure. When doing the translation process of English and Chinese, the translators should fully comprehend the expressional purpose and significance of the originated language, and convert it to the target language public using correspondent ways for better acceptance so as to perfectly complete the translation task. Therefore, the proficiency of using the differences and the translational strategies is necessary. The choice of words and the figure of speech should be proper and makes the version fluent and perfect. Living in an era of cultural mixing and prosperity, we need not only study the surface of language, but also go deep into the language structure and the reasons that form, thus it will decrease the cultural conflict and realize the true harmony.At present, attention has been paid on political news translation, but rarely researchers explore from the perspective of linguistic thinking to systematically study the type of news translation. The thesis presents different translation strategies under the guidance of linguistic thinking, and it is composed of six parts, including introduction and five other chapters. The introduction part is the general information, in which the author presents the background, significance, methods and layout of the research. Chapter One first lists the text for this thesis and introduces two levels, word level and syntactical level, from the features of style and the register. Chapter Two gives the complete theoretical framework of linguistic thinking,then makes a brief analysis connecting translation of English political news with linguistic thinking, and using five different linguistic thinking, penetrability, metaphor, constructivity, logicality and abstract, to analyze its features. Chapter Three, the author uses the comparison between Chinese and English linguistic pattern and the examples to present an analysis. Chapter Four is the main part in this thesis, which represents the details of comparative differences between English and Chinese of political news and the approaches to translation. Chapter Five concludes the whole thesis, and states the limitation of the thesis as well as some suggestions about doing the research in the future.
