Previous studies have shown that,in a 2s short time duration, the emotion is mainly impact on time perception process through the awakening mechanism, and found that high arousal emotional state can make participants perceive time more longer. This research mainly adopts the experimental paradigm of time two bisection tasks, through comparing the participants’ condition of the key press ratio,to examine college students’ characteristics of the time perception under hostile mood state. In this experiment process,a fixation point "+" has been shown primarily in the middle of the screen. It was duration of 400 ms and 600 ms and 800 ms and 1000 ms and 1200 ms and 1400 ms and 1600 ms timing of stimulation(blue circles) followed by the fixation point. We let participants judgment time duration long or short after the stimulus disappear.Seven time duration have been shown each ten times of random sequence, which conclude a total of seventy trials. After asked participants to finish the first part of the task,we gave a hostile emotion scale to fill. Then we arranged participants to play 15 minutes of violent video games. Then participants filled a hostile emotion scale again after the second part of the game task, finally we arranged participants to complete the judgment task again. This results shown that: firstly we found hostile emotion can affect college students’ time perception through comparing the participants’ condition of the key press ratio before and after the violent games; Secondly we found the participants who’s hostile emotion scores increased more will tend to perceive time more longer; Thirdly compared to male college students, female college students were much easier to perceive time longer in the same degree of hostile emotion. |
