| Belief in a just world is an important human psychological resources, forgiveness is a hot research topic of positive psychology. Belief in a just world and forgiveness are both prosocial, belief in a just world is one of the influence factors of the forgiveness, and there is mediating effect between belief in a just world and forgiveness.To explore the relationships among belief in a just world, self-esteem, gratitude, forgiveness, 987 undergraduates were measured with Dalbert Belief in a Just World Scale, The Self-Esteem Scale, The Gratitude Questionnaire-6 and Heartland Forgiveness Scale. The results are as follows:(1)There were significant difference on belief in a just world, bjw-others, bjw-self for students of different genders. There did exist significant difference between different home address and grades on belief in a just world, bjw-self; There was no significant difference on self-esteem of different genders and grades, but significant difference of different home address; There was no significant difference on gratitude of different home address and grades, but significant difference of different genders; There were significant difference on forgiveness, interpersonal forgiveness and self-forgiveness for students of different genders, but no significant difference of different grades. There did exist significant difference between different home address on forgiveness, interpersonal forgiveness.(2) Belief in a just world, self-esteem, gratitude and forgiveness were significantly and positively correlated with each other.(3) Gratitude, belief in a just world and self-esteem could significantly predict the forgiveness.(4) Belief in a just world could not only exert effects on forgiveness directly but also through self-esteem, gratitude indirectly, and there was chain mediating effect of self-esteem, gratitude.(5) There were significant difference on different mediating effects, including chain mediating effect, and the mediating effect of the self-esteem was the largest. |
