The Study Of Cheng Yuqing’s “shijijishuo”

Since Ling Zhilong’s “shijipinglin” in Ming dynasty,there have been many alike pieces,among which Cheng Yuqing’s “shijijishuo”is a very good one.Qing dynasty is the time of conclusion for study of”shiji”,when there were many research groups and they stick to their own opinions.While “shijijishuo” is the only piecework that can break this limitation and take the advantage of different groups,it impressed many people.My paper tried to make a overall and systemic study on “shijijishuo” to make clear it’s position and influence in “shiji” study.To make it specific,here follows my thought:Chapter1 is a brief introduction of “shijijishuo”,and there are two parts:part1 is about cheng’life and the background of the birth of “shijijishuo”;part2 is about the versions and locations of “shijijishuo”.Chapter 2 is about the organization of statement,mainly on foreword 、notes and quotes.The organization is almost like Ling but there are details of his own style:especially the quotes,for some of them he gave a reference while others not.In chapter 3,I discuss the way cheng tell stories. In part 1,I show that Cheng comment on “shiji” by paint which is very fresh.Part 2 talks about reaching author’s mind by considering his words,which is invented by Mengzi and appreciated by Cheng;part 3shows that cheng make compliments on “shiji” in a precise way and there is no useless words;parts 4 points out that Cheng quoted many Confucian classics,it seems he has been deeply influenced. part 5 I analyze how Cheng infer Sima Qian ‘s motion,the key is the combination pieces.Part6 is about Cheng’s analysis of how SimaQian make compliments on people.In part7,I focus on cheng ‘s appreciation on SimaQian’s insisting on record real stories.Part8 is about Cheng’s stand on “who is the better on between Sima and Ban”,he has his own standard.To conclude,chengyuqing’s “shijijishuo” is a pretty good one in many versions of“shij” and is very valuable.It should have a place in compliments books of “shiji”...
