This thesis studies this classic a cappella flute sonata in the early 20th century mainly becuase it is a representative a cappella sonata which usually appears as the designated repertoire in major competitions and a common repertoire in concerts. Its music genre, creation genre and style integrate with each other, which help achieve the perfect balance and conformity between the timbre and expression of the flute. Therefore, based on this piece of work, the author takes a microcosmic look into the mainstream creation style of flute works in the early 20th century to better interpret the works during this period.Chapter 1 elaborates on the creation periods and composers respectively. It adopts the writing method that restores the historical background at that time and source of emotional atmosphere based on the exact time of work creation and then reflects them in the work by combining with the creation style, melody features and cultural connotation of the composer so as to lay a foundation in the work. Chapter 2 analyzes the melody structure of the whole piece of work so as to analyze the rigorous creation style and passionate emotional expression of the composer. The last chapter introduces that after many years of learning and fitting, the author makes some changes in conformity with her own conditions in terms of performance, which reflects the authenticity from music creation to music performance (re-creation). Meanwhile, it delves into how the diversity of the flute timbre has been aggressively expanded since the 20th century. However, the timbre control of flute has long been one of the difficulties of flute performance, especially in this solo flute sonata. It studies the pitch control based on the melody structure of the work.It adopts the main performance and writing mode that combines the skill analysis of performance and the morphological analysis of music ontology.
