The Study Of Xu Pei Dong’s Compositions And The Singing Skills

Pei dong Xu is one of the most famous composers in China. From the late of 1980s to nowadays, he has been creating numerous music works which have various styles and wide subjects, including more than 70 compositions for opera, dance drama, film, teleplay and so on, and approximate 1000 musics of Bel Canto songs, folk and pop songs. Particularly, his songs spread extremely widely among the music production.The Dawn is the song composed by XU for celebrating the 60th birthday of the People’s Republic of China, meanwhile, it is also a work that contains rich historical sense and national responsibility. Another composition named sounds and loves of countryside is his early work, whose style is simple and sincere. Through the music, he expressed the inner love to his hometown. For young vocalist as well as music learners of the present should have the awareness that it is important to practice and preform Chinese music of the contemporary musicians.This thesis mainly focuses on the research of artistic creation of XU’s compositions, including induction, arrangement and summary of his works, thus can provide the basement for further study of his creative ideas, music style, taste and personality. At the same time, by combining my own performance experience with the research outcome to come up with some personal perspectives and ides, I wish that the thesis can exhibit some practical references and enlightenment for performing the works of XU.
