Just world belief refers to a belief what people widely held, that is, the world is just, and in this world people get what they deserve. The belief in a just world it helps individuals to better adapt to the complex social environment, because it makes people feel certain about the world. The subjects of 328 male juvenile criminals from Shanghai juvenile reformatory were investigated with General Belief in a Just World Scale(GBJWS), Personal Belief in a Just World Scale(PBJWS), Adolescent Emotional Resilience Inventory and Coping Styles Inventory, to explore the features of belief in a just world, emotional resilience and coping styles of male juvenile criminals as well as the relationship among them. The result shows that:(1) The General Belief in a Just world of male juvenile criminals was stronger than their Personal Belief in a Just World. There were significant crime type and educational attainment differences in the Personal Belief in a Just World and significant crime type differences in the General Belief in a Just world.(2) The emotional resilience was basically below the medium level. There was significant age difference in the ability to recover from negative emotional experiences and emotional resilience. There was crime type difference in the ability to generate positive emotions, the ability to recover from negative emotional experiences and emotional resilience.(3) There were significant age, crime type and educational attainment differences in male juvenile delinquents’ coping styles.(4) There was significantly positive correlation between the Personal Belief in a Just World and the ability to generate positive emotions, and the ability to recover from negative emotional experiences and emotional resilience. There was significantly positive correlation between the General Belief in a Just world and problem-solving. There was significantly positive correlation between the Personal Belief in a Just World and problem-solving, and self-blaming, and fantasy, and rationalization. There was also significantly negative correlation between the Personal Belief in a Just World and avoidance. There was significantly positive correlation between the ability to generate positive emotions and problem-solving, and rationalization. There was also significantly negative correlation between he ability to generate positive emotions and fantasy, and avoidance. There was significantly positive correlation between the ability to recover from negative emotional experiences and problem-solving, and self-blaming. There was significantly positive correlation between emotional resilience and rationalization.(5) The Personal Belief in a Just World, the ability to generate positive emotions and emotional resilience can significantly predict problem-solving. The Personal Belief in a Just World can significantly predict fantasy. The Personal Belief in a Just World and the ability to generate positive emotions can significantly predict avoidance. The Personal Belief in a Just World, the ability to generate positive emotions and emotional resilience can significantly predict rationalization.
