The Comparison And Analysis Between Two Versions Of The Yangqin Solo Piece "Su Wu The Shepherd"

This paper aims to study and analyze the artistic characteristics, similarities and differences between Mr. Zhao Dianxue’s traditional version and Mr. Xiang Zuhua’s arrangement version of the traditional Yang Qin piece “Su Wu the Shepherd”.In this paper, field trip research and historical articles research methods were use to study the historical background of traditional Yang Qin piece “Su Wu the Shepherd”, background of the era during Mr. Zhao Dianxue’s life and the composition process of Mr. Zhao Dianxue‘s “Su Wu the Shepherd”. The paper also analyses the artistic features, structure, playing methods, techniques and musical features of the two version of “Su Wu the Shepherd”. Further analysis and comparison between these two versions is carried out and summarized. It is hoped that the contents of this paper will be able to provide reference for scholars and researchers.
