Study On The Effect Of Youth Idol Drama To Young People

As one of the most popular TV dramas, the youth idol drama is well liked by the young generation. The 80’s90’s being called as a generation growing up with the accompanying of TV programs is affected by the mass media at every corner of their daily life. With the accelerated pace of modern life, the heaver living pressure, those modern youth idols which are more optimistic, more fashionable and closer to the real life are more likely to be welcomed by the young generation. The culture conceptions, behaviors delivered from those dramas exert a subtle influence on youth’ mind.This paper adopts qualitative research methods and the data were collected through semi-structured interviews. A description to the basic situation of young people watching the youth idol drama is made. The author try to explore the effect of youth idol drama to the study, social communication, love, leisure consumption and employment of the youth, then analyses the causes of the impacts from the youth idol drama to young people. Besides, some suggestions on how to avoid the negative impacts are put forward.The effects of youth idol drama to young people lies on the following aspects: In terms of study, the young people’s attitude is more realistic, the views to the knowledge acquisition are more broaden, and the methods to learn are more flexible; In terms of social interaction, the equal communication awareness are deepen continually, communication attitude tends to be stable and, with obvious utilitarian as well. Virtual communication mode has become a more common way; In terms of love, their attitude towards love is more open and more optimistic. Besides, their ideal lover are not only limited to the appearance but also their characteristics and their work ambitions. At the same time, the contradiction between ideal and reality is more prominent, the confusion between love and marriage confusion is more obvious. In terms of the leisure consumption, the concept of consumption is more and more advanced, the pursuit of fashion, fashion consumption, consumption patterns are gradually showing a diversified development trend; Concerning their occupation, the youth idol drama delivers more positive information. The idols’ optimistic attitudes to their work leave the young people a deep impression and emotional comfort which just strengthen their entrepreneurship consciousness. Their occupation pursuing is more pragmatic and their cooperative awareness are strengthened as well.Concerning the causes of those affects, firstly the main theme of the story meets the young people’s needs; secondly, the contents of the plot fit their cognition of the real life; besides, their description caters the young people’s psychological needs. From the perspective of social psychology, the worship of idols, empathy and a herd mentality are the key points that influent the young people to accept the youth idol drama.As for the negative effects of the youth idol drama, more attention should be aroused. We are supposed to attach great importance to the education function and strengthen the management to form a well public opinion. The education and guidance to the young people should be enhanced to strengthen their evaluation abilities and improve their cultural and beauty appreciation abilities.
