This article explains the principle and dynamics of the related muscle when playing the clarinet from the standpoint of upper arm muscle and hand muscle. The article makes a comprehensive study on the thesis by the means of case analysis, experience summary, and literature reference. It starts with the introduction of arm muscle and the distribution of hand muscle, combined with the effect of each muscle, and then analyzing the distribution and influence of muscle tendon, which means to help readers have a basic understanding about upper arm and hand muscles’structure and position. Hereinafter there will be the role of these muscles in practice. After the basic introduction, I make a statement about the basic posture of clarinet playing, related muscles’ condition of fingering, and the cooperation between muscles, coming up with some new viewpoints on fingering practice and demonstrating them through case analysis, drawing a more scientific result. In chapter 2, I analyze the requirements to muscle for every single fingering and the practice methods specifically with examples. The chapter 3 mostly uses fundamental medical knowledge to investigate the influence on muscle from daily sports, work, etc. and the efficient training on muscle from some independent actions. The article is aim to help clarinettists get more scientific understandings on their muscle structure, to improve the pertinence during their daily practice.
