Ever since the 80 s of the 20 the century, European researchers obtained great achievements in studying fat negative physical self, negative body image, as well as dietary restrictive. Food is the basic need. Normal eating habits help people to keep their physical and mental health, better working efficiency and promise the life activity a normal circulation. If the dietary behavior loses the balance or goes into disorder, it will have some negative effects on one’s physical and mental health. Nowadays there are more and more patients with eating disorder because of eating irregularly, the number is growing magnificently. Clinical eating disorders such as disordered diet, gluttony, and anorexia nervosa are influenced by individual negative self- perception. A restrictive diet is the most common one.Clinical eating disorders take shape after a long period of unhealthy eating attitude and eating. It means, after endless restrictive diet the possibility of being a clinical eating disorder patient wax.First over concerning about one’s body shape(like weight, height, appearance or some parts of the body) then complete negative body image, in the next step negative physical self, result in becoming restrained eater, and each step plays important part in clinical eating disturbances. In this gradual process there are common characters showed both cognitive and behavioral. Restrained eaters cost large amount of energy and time. The restrained diet cognitive bias includes attentional bias, memory bias, attitude bias and bias of evaluation and so on. Most researches study around consciousness. There are few done to the unconscious level. So researches about the characteristics of restrained eaters’ subliminal perception help uncover these people’s machining process under unconscious condition. In this research the probe detection task is used to study restrained eaters’ subliminal perception characteristics. In the experiment of studying the selective memory of the restriained eating, this research is on the basis of the research down by Herman and Polivy and tries to improve the experimental materials and choosing the subject. This research also studies how the weight influence restrained eaters’ cognition, at the same time this research focuses on studying the restrained eaters’ characteristics of the selective process to appearance dress information, age information, negative body information and dietary information. The innovations of this research are; first, this research seeks to prove subliminal perception towards food cues by using probe detection task in the dietary restrained eaters’ field. In the result there are more convincing evidences found and extended the dietary restrictive eaters’ knowledge of cognitive bias toward food cues.Secondly, preliminarily discussed about the reason why some researches done before did not find the dietary restrained eaters’ cognitive bias toward food cues. Thirdly, on the basis of the former researchers’ work, this research improved the experimental material, avoided the Ceiling Effect, at the same time make use of learning-recall method in the study and the verification. Fourth, investigated restrained eaters’ early(subliminal perception) and late(memory) cognitive processing; explained further on the restrained eaters’ cognitive bias.
