In recent years, the state of the establishment and expansion of secondary vocational school, the school facilities and system are constantly improve, under the condition of school choice in art school students is becoming more and more students become more and more widely. But by the author in teaching practice of baotou art school, found that liberal arts students learning motivation is low generally, especially in the aspect of literacy class, the situation is not optimistic. This is not only conducive to the all-round development of students themselves, do not accord with a country to the requirement of talent, in the long run is not conducive to the spread and development of cultural industry in China. Learning motivation is the inner power to promote students’ learning behavior, help to improve students learning efficiency and learning task. So inspired art school student’s academic motivation is the most effective way to improve their academic results.Raw lead to art school, there are many reasons for the low level of academic motivation, i.e. there are objective factors of the outside world,also have students own subjective factors. The author through the investigation of baotou art school, on the basis of previous studies, using the survey method, questionnaire method and interview method from the aspects of schools, teachers and students of three survey related reasons were analyzed.For the main research results are as follows:(1) the school admissions conditions is low, a large number of enrollment expansion causes students to level the good and bad areintermingled, and divide into classes by age rather than when the divide into classes students’ actual level. College entrance examination to the students’ academic level requirement is very low, outside of all kinds of training, training institutions to provide students lead to students learning motivation is low.(2) in the questionnaire survey results, and gender on students’ learning motivation have significant difference, the interest in learning,achievement, praise, avoid failure and return the five dimensions girls score higher than boys; Sources of urban and rural areas on the overall learning motivation is no significant effect on the students, but in curiosity, curiosity, and returns the source of the three dimensions of urban students is higher than that of rural sources.(3) sorting the results of interviews with students, found that the students can clearly realize the importance of learning math teaching, but due to its own base is poor and lack of interest in the academic and difficult to effectively improve academic achievement.(4) found in the survey results of the teacher, the skill of literacy class attendance is very poor, not very well the relationship between students and teachers; Due to the class level, on the other hand, have high low, the teacher has difficulty in the teaching, is difficult to take care of all the students.
