Research On Anti-japanese Memorial Facilities In Hubei Province

Japan launched the all-out war of aggression in 1937. After that, Japan assembled massive troops to fight in Wuhan. From then on, the soldiers and civilians in Wuhan began their resistance of Japanese. There are many decisive battles happened during this period: the battle of Wuhan in 1938; the battle of Zao Yi in 1939, the Battle of Yichang in 1941, the Battle of West Hubei in 1943 and so on. There are twenty-two major campaigns in the Anti-Japanese war, and a quarter of them happened in Hubei Province. Therefore Hubei became an important battleground in the War of Resistance. It exists two war battlefield, a battlefield led by the KMT, another led by the Communist Party behind enemy lines of the war. Massive soldiers and civilians died bravely in the war. Therefore, during and after the war, a lot of war memorial facilities are built to commemorate anti-Japanese soldiers. This paper intends to conduct a research in three parts:The first part is the survey of the War Martyrs Memorial facilities in Hubei Province. This part contains the survey of commemorate the martyrs of the war of Hubei summary fieldwork facilities, including part of the city of Wuhan War Martyrs Memorial facilities to investigate. Due to time constraints, not all investigations are included. In addition to Survey Hubei Martyrs Memorial facilities, I also incorporate with local provinces, cities and county historical data archival discussing Hubei Province War Martyrs Memorial facilities. After finishing the survey, result shows that: there are about 80 seats Martyrs Memorial facilities related to the war in the current Hubei province, which the monument is about 38, about 11 Martyrs Memorial, Tomb of about 20, about 10 martyrs cemetery, Valiant Temple is about two.The second part introduces the construction of the various periods War martyrs memorial facilities of Hubei Province from the Anti-Japanese War to today. This part is divided into three periods: the construction of Sino-Japanese War to the early days of the war martyrs memorial facilities in Hubei Province; Early Days of Hubei Province to build facilities to commemorate the martyrs of the war of reform and opening up period; Construction of Hubei Province after the reform and opening to commemorate the martyrs of the war facilities. This part introduces the construction process of War Martyrs Memorial facilities. From the beginning of Anti-Japanese War to the day PRC is built, massive war Martyrs Memorial facilities are built. During the Cultural Revolution, because of the war policy and many other reasons,a lot of martyrs facilities were damaged to varying degrees, and after this period of reform and opening up the war memorial built primarily for repair facilities in culture Overview of the Great Revolution memorial was destroyed facilities, the construction of the martyrs memorial facilities, damage, repair and other dynamic processes. War Martyrs Memorial facilities which involves many war, mainly in the Battle of Wuhan, the date should be the battle, as well as the anti-Japanese base areas behind enemy lines several battles occurred, our soldiers that were killed in the previous campaign, die for your country, die in the battlefield.The third part is the summary of this paper. It mainly contains the conclusion from the investigation of such facilities in Hubei Province, including commemorate of the martyrs in the war, characteristics of the War Martyrs Memorial facilities and the meaning to later periods.
