Emotional creativity and innovative behavior both are the hot areas of research in the field of Psychology study. Because of the multidimensional and complexity of the concept itself, there are still a lot of blank in the research of their relationship, especially the mechanism. Based on the social constructivist view of emotion and innovative behavior Theory, the main objective of this paper was to explore the relationship between emotional creativity and employees’ innovative behavior, as well as the mediating role of creative self-efficacy and the moderating role of leader encouragement of creativity.Our sample consisted of 532 employees and their immediate supervisors from 9 enterprises in the area of Changsha city, Zhuzhou city, Xiangtan city and so on. The research used statistical software such as SPSS, then correlation analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis and mediating effect test were used in the study, too. The results showed that:1. There was a significant positive correlation between employees’ emotional creativity and creative self-efficacy. When employees’ emotional creativity was high, the probability of creative self-efficacy was also increased.2. There was a significant positive correlation between employees’ emotional creativity and innovative behavior. When employees’ emotional creativity was high, the probability of innovative behavior was also increased.3. There was a significant positive correlation between employees’ creative self-efficacy and innovative behavior. When employees’ creative self-efficacy was high, the probability of innovative behavior was also increased.4. The correlation relationship between employees’ emotional creativity and innovative behavior was mediated by creative self-efficacy.5. Leader encouragement of creativity positively moderated the relationship between employees’ emotional creativity and creative self-efficacy engagement. In other words, the main effect was stronger when the moderator was high.6. Leader encouragement of creativity acted as a mediated-moderator which moderated the relationship between employee’s emotional creativity and innovative behavior.At the end, the implications, limitations of our study and future research directions were pointed out.
