The stone mural were collected by the staff of Shanxi provincial art museum in 2005 June from the residents as Niujiachuan villiage at shangGeda in Xingxian of Lvliang city. Now it is stored in Shanxi museum mural ware house.The stone mural of NiuJiaChuan has a total of six pieces, one of couple sits, two of travel map, one of preparing dinner banquets and offering a feast of various. The screen content is the scenes of grave master home life, travel and other, showing a relatively complete life history about the owner of the tomb. The mural has bright color,its character expression rich, embodies the distinctive characteristics of the times and the regional cultural characteristics, full of strong artistic appeal.Through preliminary analysis and research of Yuan dynasty tombs in Shanxi and other areas of relevant information, consulting the related history literature of Chinese, Using the conventional method of archaeology, the stone mural has carried on the preliminary observation, analysis, and interpretation. Firstly, the interpretation of the contents of the paintings, and then the feature of objects and combinations from painting character costumes and hair, and other types of murals in the images features, to explore the murals of the era and the owner of the tomb of the clan, further research on regional murals reflect cultural characteristics and social and cultural geography. Through the study, we think, the stone mural is same unit of the grave in the yuan dynasty, the owner should be living in the county of the six or six items below the finished higher degree of nobility in Mongolia.The China’s yuan dynasty tomb murals are relatively rare, So the discovery of the stone murals at Niu Jia Chuan in Shanxi is precious.It not only adds new materials, once again for our understanding of ancient murale, specially of murals of the Yuan Dynasty, but also provides a good example for the understanding of the regional geography and cultural character of Shanxi in Yuan dynasty. Observation and analysis of the archaeology carried out to determine age and cultural attributes, is conducive to the study of historical evolution of tomb murals in Shanxi in the Jin and Yuan Dynasty, enrich the treasure house of ancient murals in Shanxi, and have a special significance in history, art and archaeology.
