A Study On Ethical Problems In Cloud Computing

All sectors of society have paid extensive attention to cloud computing since it came into being. Cloud computing is regarded as the third revolution after personal computer and the internet in the information field. It’s an emerging technology composed of network computing,distributed calculating and concurrent processing. The three characteristics(on-demand self-service,broadband network access and measurable service)have long been recognized in industry. This paper takes cloud computing technology which depends on network development as research background, summarizes the characteristics of cloud computing different from those before from different perspectives. These distinct characteristics are virtuality,globalization,customizability and cross-area distribution. Cloud computing is a double-edged sword,which not only brings us convenience,but also causes ethical problems.This paper is divided into four chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the theoretical background and basis, it presents all kinds of ethical problems in the existing cloud computing at home and abroad by ways of literatures summarizaing. The second chapter mainly introduces the technological background of ethical issues of cloud computing, including the emergence of cloud computing,concept,technological frame and characteristics. Chapter 3 mainly analyses the four problems caused by cloud computing,such as privacy,safety,crisis of trust and intellectual property. The fourth chapter makes relevant responses to the four ethical problems of cloud computing and finally proposes that we should abide by ethical principles and establish sound ethical review for common use according to philosophy of science and technology and ethics. Ethical principle comprises principles of informed consent, nonmaleficence, obligation and free to share. To amplify ethical review,promulgating technical standards with uniformity and law and establishing ethical committee review are whole new ways of solving ethical problems,which has constructive significance in coping with ethical problems of cloud computing as well as plays an indispensable protective role for people to use cloud computing better.
