In 2005, the project of "Restated Myth" was launched by Jimmy Baien who is the famous publisher of Britain’s Hom Gert Press, invited the world famous writer for the novel creation based on mythical subject matter."Restated Myth" project relates to the global 25 countries and regions, at present, to join in with the action of the Chinese writers and works of Su Tong’s "Bi Nu", Ye Zhaoyan’s "Hou Yi", Li Rui and Jiang Yun co-author of "The World", A Lai’s "King Gesar".In this paper, three facets will be discussed through analyzing author’s writing styles, their personal experiences and the characteristics of four works. They are:the reason of mythology reinterpretation, modern interpretation of myth as well as the meaning of it. As mythology is the foundation of a nation’s spirit, to reinterpretate it in the context of cultural globalization not only means a carry-forward of our national spirit,but also a great opportunity to reshape the image of China. " To reinterpretate mythology" in this pater is not for academic research on traditional myths, but to picture, in the new era, the ancient life in a view and thinking of modern people, to find the sustenance of a profound cultural and survival connotations. Its ultimate goal is to cast a new light on our modern people’s problems, especially in the times of material wealth and lack of spirit. From myth reinterpretation,we may get a different perspective of view on this colorful world as well as our inner world. By reinterpretating myth, we may not only follow the trend of times of cultural globalization, but make a contribution to the dissemination of Chinese culture, carrying forward national spirits,and promote cultural exchanges between different nations. Through the perspective of culture, the use of methodology of cultural studies, ancient myths are objectively organized and commented in this paper striving to outline a multi-dimensional picture interactive with the myth prototype, the times, the culture,as well as its authors themselves and promote modern interpretation research on Chinese mythology ultimately.
