Abstract Painting Art Research

As a famous Russian painting artist, Wassily Kandinsky pioneered the modern western abstract painting by subverting the traditional western painting art. Chu Teh-Chun grows up in China and has been living under the influence of Chinese traditional culture, although his later western life experience enables him to form a unique fusion of Chinese and western abstract painting. Both of them have achieved great artistic accomplishment which,to a great extend, promotes the development of the modern abstract" art. Due to their different living environment, they formed different ways of understanding and exploring the style of abstract painting, although both of them experienced creative imitation and transition period, such as they both agree that music, color, structure and shape are very important factors of abstract painting. Still, their creation orientation presents different characteristics such as artistic language characteristics. As for the creative direction, kandinsky pays attention to the theory of summary abstract painting, he tends to own a summary of the thinking and method of art painting skills, has more theoretical books published, and put them into actual painting practice. While Mr. Chu pays more attention to traditional Chinese art culture and tries to have the western art fused into Chinese art culture. In the creation, the home of kandinsky thinks creation must eventually meet the inside demands. In this creation idea is driven only by the abstract forms, especially by the performance of the spiritual world, to achieve the understanding of real life, Mr. Chu identified creation as not only the idea of the creator, but more is the worship of nature,the reflection of the universe and the interpretation of life. Both artists were obsessed with music to painting, kandinsky’s paintings is like playing the piano, while wandering about painting grand like a grand symphony. As for the modeling of the art structure of painting, kandinsky attaches creation to usual abstract geometry and different color piece into his structure and revealing it by using an abstract structure and works to express intentions.
