Phrase word order is one of the most important means of modern Chinese grammar and it is also one the most difficult part in teaching and learning Chinese. After years of studying experience of learning Chinese and from the observation of other Vietnamese Chinese learning students, I always feel that learning Chinese phrase word order is not an easy part to grasp.They meet so many problems while learning phrase word order such as:they are always confused in the arrangement of word in a sequence,which word should be kept first and middle and last and so on,sometimes they put the ingredients according to the sequence of their mother tongue. As a result the word order sequence does not meet the Chinese word order and sometimes they cross the words each other. this is the way how Vietnamese students face difficulties in learning Chinese phrasesThis paper is based on the comparative study and analysis of Chinese and Vietnamese phrase word order. It aims to find out the similarities and dissimilarities in the word order sequence of both language, the way of learning Chinese phrases by Vietnamese students, and in which way do they learn the Chinese phrases and what are the phrases structures on both language and which kinds of Vietnamese phrase structure bring the positive or the negative transfer in learning Chinese phrases.The purpose of this research is to help the Vietnamese students to be familiar with the similarities and dissimilarities in the phrase word order sequence in both Vietnamese and Chinese and help them to overcome the difficulties in learning Chinese phrases.In this paper,the main content is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is the introduction of Vietnamese and Chinese language and culture, The second chapter is the author’s view on Vietnamese and Chinese phrase word order and the classification of positive and negative transfer, the author put forward some enlightenment to the Chinese language teachers and Chinese language learners.
