The "Post-80s" phenomenon will be the main study object of this paper. In the early 21st century "Post-80s" phenomenon started to be a concept that widespread concern and impact in the Chinese intellectual and cultural world. According to Baidu Encyclopedia, the word "Post-80s" is a sociological term, and it refers to the generation of Chinese people born during the Eighties, in particular the generation of only children born after the start of China’s national family planning. According to this definition, the concept of "Post-80s" encloses issues related to the life, growth, and cultural development of that social group. Actually, when the term first appeared in Chinese literature, it was introduced by a writer to indicate some young writers, born in the early eighties who at the beginning of the 21st century shook the Chinese literary field. They enjoyed a great commercial success and gave rise to a popular socio-cultural phenomenon that has greatly contributed to the definition of the characteristics of the post-80s generation. From society to literature, from literature to society:it is the link between the two dimensions touched by the word "Post-80s" that will be the core theme of this study which will start by explaining the position in which post-80s writers are be put in the field of contemporary Chinese literature, a position that stands between the old literary establishment (wentan) and the market. The project then will analyze the post-80’s literary phenomenon history, starting with the study of the origins of the phenomenon in the "Mengya" magazine and it’s New Concept Writing Competition.
