"Research And Development Of Lotus Dream" Ink Portrait Art Language To Expand Research

Chinese figure painting has a long history. In ancient China, Chinese painting can be traced back to the Neolithic age, in which period, the earliest figure painting appeared. At the early period, it was used as decoration appearing in the painted pottery or other daily necessities. This period was also called the embryonic period of figure painting. It is not until the age of Wei Jin dynasties that appears the figure paintings and the first batch of historical figure painting artists recorded. Traditional figure painting mainly records the humane, portrait and the Royal aristocracy life. While in contemporary, it not only inherits old choices on subject, but also develops a lot. In today’s painting circles, we are discussing how to inherit and carry forward the traditional culture and art. If we want to grasp the secrets and create our own works, we need to observe more and experience more. Only in this way, can we grasp the essence in traditional ink painting and at the same time, find a novel perspective on creation. Apart from the innovation on form, the content is always affected by the life experience and feelings of the painter. While on the composition, the innovation maybe difficulter as since ancient times, countless famous paintings have appeared.In contemporary figure painting, few of them subjected with children and lotus. My theme for this graduation thesis is "feeling as if a lifetime has passed", which combines modern life scenes with flashbacks, and then forms a kind of trueartistic life emotion. The figure painting takes the lotus pond as a whole background. In style, it is expressed by using traditional ink lotus and the children; in image, it reflects the childhood innocence; in the composition, it selects traditional four feet of six open screen. To combine the expression of the lotus pond and figures, the painting depicts children playing in the lush lotus pond in form. As of painting skills, it uses traditional ink painting to render the whole picture with light colors and thus forms a specific expression way. In the process of portraits, it mainly uses the realistic performance approach, as well as the dynamic, static, fantasy, and memories. Which also expresses my memories for the past, confusion for now and expect for the future as a young mother.You can always find striking similaritie when wandering among past, now and future, as if a lifetime has passed.
