Population aging problem is a widespread concern in today’s Chinese society. The population in Xi’an city has gone into a stage of aging. Therefore, studying on the elders’ cultural consumption problem has a positive meaning to improve the quality of elder life and make them happy. The paper takes Xi’an elders current situation and related statistics as the study sample, uses SPSS20.0 statistical software do the analysis of variance and correlation analysis so as to obtain Xi’an elders’ consumption behavior characteristics and the problems, and then puts forward suggestions.On the basis of the consumer theory, the paper objectively analyzes the influencing factors of the aged cultural consumption. On the quantifiable basis, combining with the characteristics of cultural consumption in Xi’an, the paper selects stock of wealth,consumption environment, consumer attitudes, health and class cultural differences as the dependent variables, and constructs cultural consumption multivariate linear model and does a quantitative analysis of each influencing factors. Several important conclusions can be drawn through the results: cultural consumptions is sensitive to income changes. So improving the income level of the aged can effectively expand cultural consumption. The cultural investment of Xi’an elders cultural consumption is relatively low, and the cultural investment has not fully stimulate the consumption. The aged have different habits from others, they prefer the cultural consumption patterns which cost less money.Finally, according to the relevant theoretical research and empirical analysis results,combined with the development of cultural consumption status of the aged in Xi’an, the study puts forward rationalization policy and recommendations in order to boost thedevelopment of cultural: adhering to increase income of the aged; improving consumption policies and cultural reform of the cultural consumption development in Xi’an, standardizing the cultural market; updating older cultural consumer awareness.
