Research Of "Pu" Category On Chinese Classical Aesthetics

"Pu" belongs to an aesthetic category which embodies a unique national characteristic in Chinese classical aesthetics, presently the study of it neither in breadth or depth is not enough. This paper, based on the principle of unifying the history and logic, combining the theory associated with this category of aesthetics and literature as the specific research material, roughly combs the history accumulation of "pu" in classical aesthetics from pre-Qin dynasty to the Qing dynasty which is about two thousand years, and summarizes the historical evolution of the formation of the aesthetic characteristics, and grasps the aesthetic implication of "pu" from the concrete category of classical art. The layout of this paper is unique. The writer put the research into the whole history’s development of the classical aesthetic, and explore the "pu" ’s aesthetic expression from four aspects which contain classical poetry, calligraphy and painting, and study on the effects and significance of "pu" category. The all above is the innovation of the paper. The paper is divided into six parts. The first part is an introduction; The second part is a summary of "pu" ’s basic connotation and aesthetic features; The third part of the content is to explore the causes of "pu" and its historical development, which is divided into the pre-Qin, Wei Jin, Tang and Song dynasties, the Ming and Qing dynasties four stages; The fourth part is to appreciate the aesthetic connotations of the "pu" category in Chinese classical aesthetics of the manifestation of poetry, calligraphy and painting; the fifth part is mainly to research the influence on Chinese classical aesthetics and modern significance from the category of "pu"; the sixth part is the conclusion. This paper is to provide the reference and inspiration for the classical aesthetic category specific studies on the theory and the thought resources, through intensively researching and exploring the historical development of "pu" category and the aesthetic embodiment in classical art.
