Abstract/Summary:
Nostalgia in the modern sense is no longer limited to the negative emotions of homesickness,but to the prevalence of personal emotional experiences. In recent years,Western psychologists’ researches showed that the nostalgia play a positive role in people’s life,and the nostalgia is likely to be a mixed emotional experience under the guidance of the positive emotion. The study of the nostalgia was later for China compared to the West,But most of the study focused on the advertising,marketing and nostalgia intervention treatment of the elderly. In previous studies,nostalgia was considered can promote individual and social contact,reduce loneliness and promote the role of individual identity.In order to verify the active role on the nostalgic,690 adults were surveyed. Conclusion of this study are as followings:(1) the nostalgic tendency of Chinese adults exist significant differences adult in sex, only child, family sources, and age at birth. Women were significantly higher than males, non-child significantly higher than one-child and rural group was significantly higher than the urban group, the married group was significantly higher than the unmarried group, nostalgia with age showed a significant growth trend.(2) the sense of belonging of adult,exist significant differences on the sex, begotten,family sources and marriage. Women were significantly higher than males,one-child was significantly higher than non-only-child,the married group was significantly higher than the unmarried group and rural group was significantly higher than the urban group.(3) depression of adults exist significant differences on sex, only child, family sources, marital status and age at birth. Men were significantly higher than females, one-child significantly higher than the non-only-child, the city group was significantly higher than the rural group, unmarried group was significantly higher than married group, depression with age was a significant downward trend.(4) there is a significant correlation between any two of belonging, adult nostalgia and depression. Nostalgia and a sense of belonging exist significant positive correlation, nostalgia and depression was significantly negatively correlated. There is a significantly negatively correlation with a sense of belonging and depression.(5) the impact of belonging plays an intermediary role part in nostalgia for adult and depression.
