From the origin to the development, from the West to China, and from the early bud to maturity today, watercolor has gone through hundreds of years of history. The art language of watercolor is increasingly rich as it has developed from the early water palette painting to today’s new one mixed a variety of auxiliary media.Combined with the development of the status quo, we can find out that the auxiliary media involved in watercolor has ignited the passion of the artist for image creation and, enriched the visual effect of watercolor art language,but at the same time, there have been phenomena of rigid application of media and materials. Since the auxiliary media and watercolor body language have a closely and special relationship, the paper cited a number of examples of some of the famous painters applying the media in the image, as well as the author’s own feeling of using auxiliary media to creative. Regarding the use of auxiliary media in practice as the main body, the paper discussed senior painter’s experience and insights from different angles, and expanded in-depth analysis and exploration of the relationship between the auxiliary media and watercolor body language.All art start from technology, so does watercolor. We need to be good at using the auxiliary media and new techniques to create a more diverse artistic language, so as to enrich watercolor’s unique artistic charm, rather than the rigid application. This paper focuses on creation of watercolor by integrating theory and practice, and explore the potential of auxiliary media in watercolor creation to, provide help for the future creation.
