Han Shuli Comic Creation Research

The Chinese Comics is an unique form of painting which was risen in the early 20 th century in Shanghai. It has played a significant role in the art history of New China.Han Shuli as a leader in Tibetan contemporary art, the experts and scholars are tend to focus in his heavy-color painting creation and the research to his comics is seldom seen and ignored. Up to now, none of the experts and scholars has done in-depth research in the aspect of comic creation of Han Shuli.This paper mainly inspects Han Shuli’s works of comic comprises The Red Guards on Honghu Lake, Hunter’s Divination as well as BANJINMEIDUO. The article mainly analyzed the historical backgrounds, the change in style, the artistic conception and the culture connotation of the above three cases.In the meantime, try exploring the significance of these works to Han Shuli’s art courses and tracing the early route of art creation of Han Shuli. Combines many respects such as the social and historical background and his creation motive as well as the selection of artistic materials, this article attempt to restore the historical scene of Han Shuli’s comic creation. To study these three comic works as a whole object which influenced by many aspects for example culture, society, politics and art.This paper comprises three parts: The first part is introduction, it mainly introduces the basic situation of The Chinese Comics such as the origin and the definition of concepts of comic between China and the other countries, the significant artistic features, the functions and the literature review.The second part discusses the creation background, the origin of the subject, the content of story, the art style and the main idea of Han Shuli’s works mentioned above respectively. The three part aims at analyze the change in style, the taste feature, the cultural connotation and the practical significance of Han Shuli’s comic productions.Han Shuli’s comic creation has undergone three phases: The initial learn. The explore. Establish the development direction of art in the mature stage. What he explored and studied laid a firm foundation for his later artistic achievement.
