The Study Of The Piano Accompaniment Of Liu Cong’s Art Song

Liu Cong began to write Art Songs and piano accompaniments from 1980s when he was studying at Shenyang Normal University. He had a strong interesting in piano accompaniment and did a lot of work on practice and research. He developed a theory about piano accompaniment step by step and had a great achievement in writing Art Songs. He is a native composer because of his study and creation are evolved in China. For this reason his Art Songs and piano accompaniments have a Chinese characteristics obviously. He is a composer as well as a piano accompanist. He is also a pedagogue teaches more than two courses. His Art Song’s piano accompaniment have an excellent infection both in melody and art not only from the manner of writing but also the style of music. It is easy for singers and accompanists to understand the music and express it. This paper studies about the characteristics in Liu Cong’s Art Songs’ piano accompaniments by analysing them from different views.
