Left-behind elderly phenomenon is common in China, their children can meet the material needs of parents, but they don’t understand what their parents’ real demand, which also makes some of the elderly themselves as the burden of children. In order to reduce the physical and psychological burden of their children, they would choose to stay living at home. Actually this choice of old people will increase the burden of their children and even guilty, which leads to the contradiction.Showing this contradiction between left-behind elderly and their children is the theme of this documentary. My grandmother is the heroin of the film and it took me four months to finish this21-minutes film, which consists of five parts.The first part is my grandmother’s love for their children;the second part is showing that grandmother can only accustomed to country life; the third part is describe my grandmother likes living alone; The fourth part is showing that my grandmother takes care of their children so much and the last part is my parents how to take care of my grandmother.The five parts expose the complexity that the support of the children for the elderly under the contemporary social context.The film also expect that by showing this contradiction, the audience will think about under the contemporary context, what is the real honor for their parents.
