Research On The Tombs Of Shang Dynasty In South-central Hebei Province

The objects of this thesis are the tombs of Shang Dynasty in South Central Hebeiprovince, which are classified by the funerary vessels. The shapes and structures,forms orientations of these tombs，and coffins are examined. These tombs are dividedinto two types, and are divided into two stages with five periods. Then discuss thepolitical geography of Late Shang Dynasty.Chapter One: IntroductionDefine the temporal-spatial framework of the research objects; summarize theshortcomings of the former research results.Chapter two: Investigation of tombsResearch the shapes and structures of tombs typologically, summarize thegeneral information of the coffins, funerary objects distributions, orientations andforms of the tombs of Shang Dynasty in South Central Hebei province.Chapter three: Typological Analysis of Typical VesselsResearch the bronzes and potteries in the tombs typologically, clarify theevolvement roles of each kind of vessels.Chapter Four: Chronology of the TombsThe tombs of Shang Dynasty in South Central Hebei province are divided intotwo stages with five periods based on the developing relations of vessels. Chronologyof each period is fixed by compared with the Central Plains System. And dynamicdistribution was discussed on the base of mentioned above.Chapter Five:Discuss the mode of domination accroding to the comprehensive of investigationon bronze vessels.Chapter Six: ConclusionSummarize the main viewpoints and state the limitations and shortcomings ofthis research.
