| Gezhi,formerly known as Zhao Yanping, war born in1964in Wula of Jilinprovince. At an early age,she ever worked as a rural teacher and civil servants at thegrass-roots level,etc.In2003,Gezhi won Cloth Tiger Prose Award by Turn and caused wide publicattention in the critical. The early work broke the old prose style and boldlyintroduced the novel narrative into prose creating, meanwhile,in the prose narrative,she cleverly used some factors,such as imagination, memory and comment.in thattime, she became a representative of the "new prose movement". Critics believed thathe widened the scope of the prose and created a new situation in the downturn of theprose. They even insisted that novel narration is a major breakthrough in the prosecreation. However, some opponents questioned that there was a lot of performing inher works. And her sincerity was doubted because of the plot of exaggeration andfiction in her work.After she caused a sensation in prose, Gezhi also tried writing novels and poems.In2009, she published the novel Bayi’s Daily Necessities and then there is a numberof novellas. In2013,she published prose fiction collection the Accounts of Marrige.In recent years,she is a distinguished female writer and her works have receivedthe widespread attention. The boundary of the prose and novel is broken by her newand unique narrative style and it develops a vision and expands the theme for prosecreating. At the same time, her work is the result of daily life and she thoroughlyanalyze life with calm and sharp writing style.“B-side” is displayed to allreaders,which is not easy to detect and hidden in the dark and it brings readers a newperspective experience.At present,reseachers mainly focus on her revolutionary narrative and unusualstyle for her researche. But they lack systemic research about characteristics of prose thought.
