Nowadays cultural exchanges mounting and literary works introduced, the uncertain quality of translation texts affects reader’s experience during reading, even passes the "translation accents" to readers. Consequently, it is urgent and necessary to set up a translation quality assessment model based on China’s culture. Romance novel is an important branch of literary works for its popularity among readers at home and abroad. Such novels always center on the love between heroine and hero, with various plots to consolidate or damage the feeling between them. This kind of novels can be of elegance or of vulgarity, but the need of market will spur the writing of such novels.This paper will be based on textual analysis of House’s Translation Quality Assessment with a case study of The Major and Pickpocket by Lucy Ashford, so as to probe into the translation strategies of romance novels from the perspectives of pronoun, verb and long sentence’s translation.
