| 1980s is an important transition period of reform and opening up and development of Chinese society, when social trends, cultural attitudes and lifestyles have changed dramatically. The wide spreading photography and imaging technology directly recorded and witnessed the tremendous changes of this period, thus research on photographic development of this decade has great value for the better understanding toward the social and cultural condition of such period. From the perspective of social history and culture, this thesis examines the80s photographic journals to discuss the development of Chinese photography in corresponding1980s. Taking Popular Photography, Chinese Photography, Photography World and other typical photographic journal from1980to1989as the firsthand research material, this thesis analyzes the establishing situation of1980s photographic journals and the evolution of80s Chinese social and cultural concept and Chinese photographic development reflected by the such photographic journals. Starting with the1980s Chinese photographic background environment, photographic journals resuming, establishing, spreading and photographic ideology, this thesis mainly discusses the historical achievements of photographic journals in the photographic technology transfer, photographic concept and practice (photography era spirit, photography and life, news photography and art photography, photographic authenticity and documentary, realism and modernism, photographic nationality, photographic creation, aesthetics, education) and other respects. |
