This paper attempts to explore the classical language and showing the different way of speech from the comparison of English versions of James Legge "Analects of Confucius" in text reading. Different from the general translation study, the focal point of this paper is the structural and substantive differences which "Analects of Confucius" shows in two kinds of medium, rather than translator’s skills or strategies on the content level. The "structural" refers to, besides the loss of meaning because of he translator itself,what is the elements must have been replaced on the conversion of two kinds of culture, discourse system of two languages. Language is the habitat of thought, and also determines the fundamental problem on the way of speech. Selecting a specific text translation as a starting point, can make us became more "objective" to observe Chinese, because it has become a habit of expression for us so that keeping suitable for the observation distance is difficult. We put the "Analects of Confucius" versions of James Legge as observation field of Chinese and Western culture in the specific language level, using a variety of perspectives and methods of linguistics to analyze this specific and profound speech tradition, eventually "refers to" and "Xing" to summarize Chinese and Western style, this study has a certain significance of understanding the Western tradition and identifying ourselves.The present situation of related research is that, mostly the repeat study in terms of language conversion techniques, but this paper attempts to expound the expression pattern of the different versions. This is also the innovation of the "Analects of Confucius" translation studies. This thesis is divided into four parts:The first chapter is mainly about James Legge person with selected version, clarify the direction of the cut in point, and will be linked to language and thinking in two areas of rationality. The second chapter is on the English versions of the Analects of Confucius "James Legge" close reading of the text, the main use of the tool is the traditional grammar and semantics. The third chapter from the pragmatic in contemporary linguistics study extradition to explore the ways of speaking, draw the conclusion of this article:"to participate in the" and "Xing" to summarize two kinds of Chinese and Western style. Finally briefly discusses two kind of speech and the development of the literature relationship.
