Abstract:Padampa Sangs Rgyas, a famous pantida from India to Tibet, there are various records in Tibetan documentaries. Some said that he ever was a disciple of Naga-Zune in the first century, while others keep the view that who encountered with translator Marpa in the beginning of the eleventh century. Some still think he was the same person to Kamalasila but different name, while others think he was identical to Shikya Shi Ru but different name. As a result, it lacks a concrete conclusion concerning him in Tibet academia. In my article, I attempt to analyze and explore both the time when Padampa lived and when he arrived Tibet through applying some new materials.
