Investigation On The Historical Changes Of Nan’xi River Scenic Area

Proper cognition of the historical changes of scenic sites is an essential issue related to the resourceevaluation, resource usage and sustainable resource utilization. Nanxi River scenic area, located innorthern Yongjia county, Wenzhou city, Zhejiang province, containing historical and cultural heritage,has been a famous scenic site for a long history. Undergoing rises and falls, and as a result of more thantwo thousand years of tardy but constant development and evolution, it gains self-improvement andabsorption of essence, and eventually forms the unique historical and cultural landscape today.By using the development process of Nanxi River as a vertical clue, this paper elaborates therelation between its natural and cultural landscapes, summarizes the regional characteristics and context,and forms a clear framework for the content of paper; And in a horizontal perspective, based on natural,economic, and cultural aspects, this paper focuses on the research objects such as social development,population migration, significant events and important characters to analyze the common phases andspecific elements in scenic evolution during various historical periods, to sort the influencing factors,operating mechanism and evolving rules of the site, to discuss the intrinsic motivation for historicalchanges of scenic sites, and ultimately to play an effective role in the protection and utilization of scenicrecourses.Through investigating Nanxi River scenic resources, this paper sums up the stages and featuresalong historical changes of Nanxi River, explores the effects of natural and cultural factors in allhistorical periods on the scenic changes in different phases, notes the increasingly sever issues as"urbanization, commercialization, artificialization" in scenic areas, provides scientific theories forunderstanding, protecting and utilizing scenic recourses and probes the importance and strategy torenew historical context of Nanxi River scenic sites in new era.Historical Changes of scenic areas are deemed as a river, starting from the source, and somecultural elements vanish in the process of its flowing. However, the basic cultural patterns and folkcustoms of those areas still be stored as tradition. With the time passing by, the tradition is becomingmore profound and more precious.
