The Theogony by Hesiod sorts out a series of ancestry for thousands of Greek mythological figures. As the third generation of god family, Twelve Olympians came into being since then. Half of the chief gods are goddesses, they are Athena, Hera, Aphrodite, Artemis, Hestia and Demeter. These six goddesses took control of people’s life in different regions respectively. Athena was the goddess of wisdom, and she took control of warfare and handicraft technology as well. Hera was the goddess who was in charge of marriage and weddings. Aphrodite was the goddess of sex. Artemis, the goddess of hunting had outstanding fighting capacity. While Hestia was the kitchen goddess, and symbolized the home and polis in ancient times. And Demeter was the goddess who took control of agriculture, and represented the harvest of the earth. The world of goddess actually reflects the world of human. The worship for the six goddesses can illustrate the following viewpoints:The social productive forces in ancient Greece was still low, life was not easy for people at that time.
