Research On The Words Meaning Category Of " Capture "、" Chain " And " Release " In The Zuo Zhuan

The thesis selects words meaning category of’Capture","Chain"and"Release" in the Chun Qiu Zuo Zhuan, a famous book of thepre-qin period,as research subjects.By analyzing the lexical meaning, induction sememe, these three-defined categories use-cases status of words meaning in the Zuo Zhuanare classified and statistics out in a form. Accroding to the statistical classification form,we clarify themeaning characteristics of each word,figure out the percentageof their usage,describe the development of lexical meaning,analyse the structural elements of lexical meaning in theZuo Zhuan.On these grounds, we compare the difference among the various lexical meaning structures of every word and explain the formation of their meaning features.In the Zuo Zhuan, a total of 391 use cases are summarized from 32 wordswhich belong to the lexical meaning categories of’capture", "chain, and" release ". Among them, the "capture "meaning category has 13 words and 40 glossemes in the Zuo Zhuan.With the features ofpolysemy, the word"Zhi(执)" is the most frequently used and"Xie (挟)", "Ye(掖)", "Shou(收)"are the lowest frequency of use. The majority of the words belong to "capture"meaningcatogory system with their original meaning. Through the concept of meaning for the background analysis of structural elements, the final conclusions are as follows:Not onlydoes each word contain the same dimension of "action:Capture(捕获)",but also includes several different dimensions such as:the capture modes, capture objects,capture locations, capture results and capturebackgrounds. On the one hand,these dimensions are the distinction between "capture" Words meaning similarities and differences; on the other hand, these dimensions is the reflection of the pre-Qin production development, the improvement of people’s living standards and refinement of theancestors’cognitive.The "chain"meaning category has 12 words and27 glossemes in the Zuo Zhuan. With the features ofpolysemy, the word"Qiu(囚)" is the most frequently used and"You(幽)", "Yu(圄)", "Yue(约)","Kuo(括)"are the lowest frequency of use. Through the concept of meaning for the background analysis of structural elements, the final conclusions are as follows:Not onlydoes each word contain the same dimension of "action:Chain(办缚)",but also includes several different dimensions such as:chain objects,chain tools and other purposes.On the one hand,these dimensions are the distinction between "chain" Words meaning similarities and differences;On the other hand, these dimensions are also linked to the development of material production inpre-Qin period, the a sound legal system and our ancestors’diverse and abstractthinking.The "Release"meaning category has 7 words and 32 glossemes in the Zuo Zhuan. Through the concept of meaning for the background analysis of structural elements, the final conclusions are as follows:Not onlydoes each word contain the same dimension of "action:Release(释放)", and "the purpose:be free",but also includes several different dimensions such as:the release of the body, the release of the object, the release modes, and releasing backgrounds. These dimensions reflect the authority of the pre-Qin feudal system which instill the concept of Monarchical supremacy into people’s mindand also reflect the spirits of ancestors respected superstition.These three types of words "Capture(捕获)", "Chain(囚缚)" and "Release(释放)9" used in the Zuo Zhuan was an outstanding series. Meaning characteristics of each word contained in them are inextricably linked with material culture,institutional culture and mental culture of the pre-Qin ancestors.
