The World War One accelerated the decline of Europe and the rise of the United States.During the war the European powers to fight each other and led to confusion,but provided a good opportunity for the United States to get involved in Europe affair and accelerate the pace of dominating the world. This paper focuses on the ideas and practices of Wilson government intervened in the adjustment to the boundaries of German and some territorial division. In order to reveal the actual effects of Wilson idealistic foreign intervention in European affairs and the basic characteristics of American idealism.The article include three parts. The first part mainly analyzes Wilson’s basic ideas and thoughts about post-war adjustment of the basic concept of the European territory before the Paris Peace Conference. As Wilson Government was determining to get involved in European affairs and fighting for world leadership,the United States would gradually be involved in European territorial disputes.In this process Wilson had presented the basic principles of European territorial adjustments,namely "restitution", "justice" and "self-determination".The second part mainly introduces and analyzes the contradictions and conflicts between Wilson and the Allies in adjustment to the boundaries Germany at the Paris Peace Conference. How to deal with the defeated Germany was one of the central topics at the Paris Peace Conference especially determining the boundaries of Germany.The basic principles of Wilson proposed, especially the principles of self-determination and fairness which made a conflict with the intent of French tried to dismember Germany,and had the obvious difference with other participating countries`desire.On the boundaries of Germany and issues relating to territorial adjustment, Wilson headed the US delegations to the advertised "principles" and "ideal",deal between the foreign diplomatic representatives. But in exchange for Britain, France and other countries’ support on the American League of Nations Program,Wilson also made a lot of compromises. After some bargaining,the final treaty retained the great power status of Germany, but Germany lost the vast territory and a large number of population,which against the principles of Wilson’s idea of "justice" and " self-determination."The third part mainly analysis the impact of Wilson intervened on adjustment for boundaries of German and some territorial segmentation problems. The readjust for European territory post-war, not only had a great significance for the European countries, but also deeply influenced the European pattern, and had a certain effect on the America itself.
