| The influence of Intergroup emotion and empathy on intergroup conflict have attracted more and more attention from psychologists. While conflict resolution strategy is directly related to the quality of the conflict resolution. In order to discuss whether intergroup emotion and empathy affect conflict resolution strategy or not, this paper adopted cross-cutting categorization paradigm to create group identity, combining different scenarios to induce intergroup emotions, setting up virtual conflict situations to study conflict resolution strategies. The first experiment explored the differences of conflict resolution strategies between high empathy group and low empathy group in positive or negative intergroup emotions. The second experiment respectively explored the differences of conflict resolution strategies between the cognitive empathy and emotional empathy in positive or negative intergroup emotion. The results of the experiments show that:Firstly, the conflict resolution strategy under different intergroup emotion circumstances are significantly different; the conflict resolution strategy in positive intergroup emotion is more positive. Secondly, the conflict resolution strategy in different empathy groups has obvious discrepancy; the conflict resolution strategy in high empathy group is more positive. Thirdly, the interaction of intergroup emotion and cognitive empathy affects conflict resolution strategies, students in cognitive empathy group in positive intergroup emotion tested to be more positive on conflict resolution strategy while the result is oppositive in negative emotion. And, comparing with the negative intergroup emotion conditions, conflict resolution strategies are more positive in emotional empathy group. |
