In recent years, with the rapid development of mobile communication technology and information technology, in the facilitation of the mobile era, mobile learning formally becomes a new way of learning and brings considerable change to the learning mode, providing powerful support for individual learning mode and the realization of lifelong learning. At present, more and more learners accept and commit themselves into the mobile learning, especially the college students. So how to make the learners learn effectively and let them commit themselves into the mobile learning mode continually has become the focus of widespread concern. This paper is aiming to solve this problem with exploring the related factors influencing mobile learning from the perspective of the ARCS motivation model. It investigates current situation of mobile learning among college students, actual usage of mobile learning software as well as factors influencing the learning motivation. And it uses the literature research method, the network survey method, questionnaire survey and experimental research method to analyze the factors influencing the effect of mobile learning among college students, and takes vocabulary learning of College English at the fourth level as an example, through using the relevant strategy of ARCS motivation model to make instructional design〠navigationã€interaction ã€personalization of new mobile learning software.Firstly, this paper reviews the related theory foundation of the development process of mobile learning home and abroadã€the concept of mobile learning and analyzes the domestic current research situation of mobile educational APP and the problems in developmentã€application of strategies in education and the overview of ARCS model of motivation.ARCS motivation model is mainly the factors influencing students’ learning motivation: attentionã€relevanceã€confidence and satisfaction. This paper is based on these four factors to make the questionnaire about current situation of college students’ mobile learning and factors influencing mobile learning of college students.Secondly, regarding to current situation of college students’ mobile learning and existing problems as well as factors influencing college students’ mobile learning based on the ARCS model of motivation, we conduct case study taking vocabulary learning of College English Test 4 as an example, collecting the questionnaire and analyze it to get the investigation results.Finally, we optimized the design of college English mobile learning software according to the relevant strategy of ARCS motivation model combining the result of the investigation and realized the vocabulary learning software of College English at the fourth level on Android platform, hoping to be able to maximally stimulate and maintain students’ mobile learning motivation, and make them ready to make long-term commitment to mobile learning. |
