The Jewish War was a war broken out in 66-70 between Rome-Judaea province that Jewish revolt against Roman. Jewish historian Josephus recorded in detail of the event in his book The Jewish War. This paper affirms the historical value of the book The Jewish War, putting it as the basis and mining the hinting information Josephus left in his book to analyze the causes and effects of the war.This paper mainly discusses from three parts:The first part discusses the causes of Jewish War. The causes are various and the paper mainly carries on the analysis from four aspects, namely, the compulsion and oppression of Roman ruling for Judaea, the difference between cultural concept of Judaea and Rome,the economic collapse and social unrest of Jewish provinces, and the failure of the Rome to support Jewish priestly class.The second part discusses the main process of the Jewish war. This paper, according to Josephus’s records, divides the Jewish war into two phases. The first phase is the fall of Galilee, and the second phase is destruction of Jerusalem.The paper puts the destruction of Jerusalem as the symbol of the end of the war.The third part discusses the influence of the Jewish war. After the war, the persecution of Rome for Jews aggravated,the anti-Semitism reinforcement,the management of Rome for Jewish provinces strengthen, change the course of the development the internal of Judaism,and Flavius dynasty won the legitimacy of the authority.
