Research And Analysis On Zizek’s Theory Of Ideology Idolum

Ideological issue has attracted much attention ever since it was born. Some scholars consider that it is the collection of a series of concepts, while others consider that it is a social existence. The generation of Zizek’s theory of ideological fantasy provided us with a total new perspective to understand and interpret Marxist theory, under the situation that ideology would end the rising dispute, responding the capitalistic challenge effectively as well. Zizek interpreted Marxist theory from a new perspective, exploiting a new field on the research of Marxist theory.Zizek has inherited Marxist commodity fetishism and Althusser’s theory of ideological state apparatus, further concluded Lacan’s spiritual analysis theory. Ideology is divided as three types by Zizek based on the introspection of the ideological issue, which are self-being ideology, self-making ideology, self-being and self-making ideology. Zizek expounded that what the ideological idolum is and how it can construct the main body and support the reality by portentously interpreting the commodity fetishism as the breakthrough point and analyzing commodity condition. But Zizek suggested that the critique on ideology can not only be limited to reveal its veil, but also to find out what is behind the veil. Therefore, Zizek revealed the inner drive ideological idolum, the plus-de-jouir, to explain how to reach and go through out the ideological idolum by expounding the Symptom.Zizek’s theory of ideological fantasy greatly enriched and developed Marxist theory, opened up a new perspective and research method. Also, it has significance for us to introspect on the plight and to construct a harmonious socialist society.
