A Report On The Need For Interpreters In Ningxia

The majors in universities are usually designed to meet the social needs. However, the graduates still have trouble finding jobs related to their majors just due to the lack of a suitable mode of education in universities, which is also a kind of waste of talents. To solve this problem and get some good suggestions for the interpterters’cultivation in Ningxia, the author has made a survey of some related institutions and collected some statistics with the help of the professors, classmates and friends by means of questionnaire, face-to-face interviews and phone interviews. Most of the interviewees are the experienced interpreters or the leaders in the surveyed institutions. The contents of the questionnaires contains the demand for all sorts of abilities which interpreters should have, the demand for the certificates, the current working conditions for the interpreters and the suggestions for the teachers and MTI curriculum. I’ve got some useful suggestions provided by the experienced interpreters and experts after analyzing the statistics.
